Withdrawal of 1000 Lekë Note  

 

The 1000 Lekë banknote carrying the portrait of Skanderbeg, the Albanian National Hero, is to be finally withdrawn from circulation from 30 March this year. 

After that date the note will no longer have 'legal tender' status.
