   Arjan Kadareja, PhD

Mr. Arjan Kadareja graduated in 1986 in Mining Engineering, Geology and Mining Faculty, University of Tirana. He got an M.A. in Economics, Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva, Switzerland in 1995 and the Ph.D. in Economics from the same Institute in 2000.

His professional career began in 1986, as an engineer in the Chrome Mining in Batėr until 1991, when he started working as a professor in the Geology and Mining Faculty, Polytechnic University of Tirana until 1993. From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Kadareja worked in a number of institutions and organizations, among others, as a statistician in the International Labour Organization in Geneva, economics specialist in UNCTAD in Geneva, instructor and research assistant in the Graduate Institute of International Studies, Geneva, Switzerland.

From 2000 to 2004, he worked as an economist in the Institute for Research on the International Economy (CEPII) in France and as an auditor in RGIS, Ontario, Canada. Currently, he is working as an advisor to the Directorate General Research, European Central Bank.

His areas of interest focus on issues related to macroeconomic modelling, analysis of economic policies, international, monetary and financial economy, programming etc. He is the author of a number of working papers, publications and he has presented a number of papers in various international scientific activities.

Mr. Arjan Kadareja was appointed member of the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania in December 2006.

He is fluent in English, French, and Italian. Intermediate level language fluency in Russian.
