Mrs. Tefta Çuçi graduated in Economics, Political Economy branch, at University of Tirana, in 1977. For several years in succession she engaged in academic field working as part time Professor at University of Tirana and at Agriculture University of Kamza.
After she terminated the university studies, she worked as Examiner in Social Insurance, Tirana branch, till 1981. Later on she started being involved in banking (1981-1998). She worked first as an Officer of the Foreign Department, at the State Bank of Albania. Further, she worked as a Chief of Section for non-trade payments and as an Officer for foreign currency transactions at the Supervision Department of the Bank of Albania. During the period 1991-1992 she worked as a Chief of Section at the Albanian Commercial Bank.
She participated in diverse mid-term and long-term training courses: six-month courses in Italy, at IRI, Banca d'Italia, Banca Commerciale Italiana and Mediocredito Centrale, a two-year training course on foreign trade at University of Tirana, training courses organized by foreign institutions such as IMF, Central Bank of Austria, etc., as well as in several international seminars organized by the World Bank, National Bank of the Czech Republic and other institutions, especially on banking supervision.
She is fluent in English, Italian and French.
