The final phase of the competition, ''The Real Value of Money!'' took place among high schools in Korça district, 24 April 2009

The Bank of Albania, under the implementation of the educational program 'The Central Bank in Everyday Life', organised in Korça, the competition, 'The Real Value of Money!' today April 24, 2009.

As part of the Understanding Memorandum, concluded between the Ministry of Education & Science and the Bank of Albania signed on December 13, 2007, this challenge is a concrete initiative in the framework of the economic-financial educational program that Bank of Albania is dedicated to run throughout the recent years. Its goal is to establish, deepen and expands the students' knowledge on the monetary policy field of the Central Bank, in general. It aims also to encourage students perform profound studies in finance and related branches, and serves simultaneously to the growth of the country's economic culture.

'The Real Value of Money' competition for the academic year 2008-2009 was held in Vlora and Shkodra and now in Korça. 11 schools from the village and the city raced among them in the premises of 'Andon Zako Çajupi' theatre. This educational activity shall take place in Gjirokastra and Tirana during the month of May. The finalisation of this challenge shall call in Tirana the competition among the five winning teams of the aforementioned cities.

'Themistokli Gërmenji' high school is the wining team of Korça district.

Students, teachers, representatives from the Education Department of Korça district and relatives of participants attended this competition.

Bank of Albania, at the conclusion of the activity, appraising the performed team-work and the individual one, awarded symbolic prizes.
