Obverse: In the center of the coin is placed the State Emblem of Albania and around it is written "Socialist People's Republic of Albania 1987".

Reverse: In the center of the coin is outlined the castle of the Port of Durres with sailing ships (Polacre of the 17th century), next to it is written "Castle of Durres". Under it is written in relief the nominal value "50 Lekë". In the upper arch, there is written "ALBANIA".
