Bank of Albania and European Central Bank agree to extend the euro liquidity line to March 2022

Under the existing repo line arrangement for providing the Bank of Albania with a euro liquidity line amounting €400 million, the European Central Bank and the Bank of Albania have agreed to extend the euro liquidity line to March 2022.

Notwithstanding, this collaterased agreement (REPO)  was not necessary to be used so far, the Bank of Albania deems that this reserve instrument remains useful  in the presence of market dysfunctions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
