Bank of Albania puts in circulation the 10 LEKË coin, legal tender, issue of 2018

The Bank of Albania informs the public that, as of 25 June 2019, the 10 LEKË coin, legal tender, issue of 2018, will be put in circulation.

Reminting of the legal tender 10 LEKË coin was approved by Decision 2/2018 of the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania, pursuant to Law 8269/1997 "On the Bank of Albania", as amended.

The 10 LEKË coin, issue of 2018, has the same alloy composition, design, dimensions and weight as the 10 LEKE coin, issue of 2013.

Changes consist in the year of issue, i.e. “2018”, as well as in the spelling of the words “LEKË” and “SHQIPËRISË”.

From 25 June 2019, the 10 LEKË coin, legal tender, issue of 2018, will be used as a means of payment in parallel to all existing coins of this denomination in circulation, from earlier issues.
