Global Money Week 2022, 21-27 March 2022, “Build your future, be smart with your money!”

On 21-27 March 2022, the Bank of Albania in cooperation with the Albanian Association of Banks, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Sports, and the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA), will launch Money Week 2022 under the theme “Build your future, be smart with your money!”

For more than a decade, the Bank of Albania has been part of this international initiative, organising educational and awareness-raising activities for students of the pre-university and university education every end of March. This week is an international initiative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), which aims to bring awareness to the young generation on becoming financially responsible citizens in the future. The objective of the educational activities is the inclusion of children and youth, while teaching them how to take care of money, how to save, how to think financially or how to understand the differences in the economic systems where they live, how to earn revenue through entrepreneurship and build the foundations for their future through financial literacy.  

The ceremony of Global Money Week will be held at the Museum of the Bank of Albania, on Thursday, 24 March, at 11:00. The Governor of the Bank of Albania, the Minister of Education and Sports, and the Chair of the Albanian Association of Banks, as well as other high officials from commercial banks will be present during the ceremony. The following prizes will be awarded to the winners of the contests:

1. Drawing contest for 3rd and 4th grade students with the topic “Build your future, be smart with your money!”
2. Meme contest for 9th grade students with the topic “Build your future, be smart with your money!”
3. Best Video contest for high-school students with the topic “Build your future, be smart with your money!”
4. Challenge of the week: 7 questions on money and banks for high-school students
5. Best essay contest with the topic “Digital bank and its impact on increasing financial inclusion”
