Decisions of the Supervisory Council, 2 March 2016

In its meeting on 2 March 2016, the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania reviewed and decided to:

• Approve the Annual Report of the Bank of Albania 2015

The Annual Report is a legal obligation for the Bank of Albania, and an instrument for its accountability before the Assembly of the Republic of Albania. It is an important document to transparently inform the Assembly on the decisions by the Supervisory Council and the activity of the Bank of Albania towards fulfilling its institutional, monetary, currency, supervisory, operational and developmental objectives.

More specifically it reflects the following:

• Overall macroeconomic developments in Albania;
• Monetary and foreign currency-related policies implemented by the Bank of Albania;
• Developments in financial markets and potential risks facing financial stability;
• Supervisory, licencing and regulatory activities;
• Currency issue, payment system, research, communication and financial education;
• Human resources and logistic services management;
• Internal audit;
• Balance sheet, accounting, financial statements, and statement by the independent external audit;
• Main objectives for 2016.

In conclusion, the Supervisory Council was also informed on the daily functional and operational activities of the Bank of Albania.
