Monetary Policy Decisions

Today, on June 6, 2018, the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania reviewed and discussed the latest developmente in the domestic financial markets, with a particular view on the rapid appreaciation of the exchange rate. In conclusion to the assessment of its implications for the medium term inflation outlook and the assessment of monetary policy stance in line with price stability, the Supervisory Council decided:

to reduce the policy rate by 0.25 percentage points to 1.00%.
to reduce the overnight deposit facility rate by 0.15 percentange to 0.10%
to reduce the overnight lending facility rate by 0.35 percentage points to 1.90%
to conduct foreign exchange purchase operations in the domestic market.
