Statistics have a special place in the Albanian economy, as they contribute to improving the quality of analysis and making better-informed decisions. A central bank collects statistics to ensure quantitative information to formulate, implement and monitor economic and financial policies, and conduct macroeconomic analysis, and economic research.

The Bank of Albania collects information from a number of sectors of the economy such as: banking, fiscal, real, and external sectors. After a meticulous compilation, it publishes relevant statistics. The Bank of Albania is, therefore, an important source of statistical information not only to specialised institutions but also to the general public.
