Time Series Database of the Bank of Albania

"Time series" is a public database, part of the Bank's publications. This database is centralized data base of statistical information - it presents time series of aggregated statistical data. Most of these data derive from statistical processing conducted directly by the Bank. However, data from external sources, for example from Ministry of Finance, national statistical office - INSTAT, are also available. Publication of the information is available by their permission only.

The compilation of monetary and financial statistics is done according to the "Methodology of monetary and financial statistics, BoA, July 2003" which is based on the "Manual of monetary and financial statistics, IMF, 2000".

The balance of payments of Albania is compiled according to a methodology which is based on the "Balance of Payments Manual, Fifth Edition, 1993 IMF" (available in Engish, pdf format).

Sectoral Balance Sheet of the Central Bank is compiled using the accounting reports of Bank of Albania.The data are presented according to the framework of the sectoral balance sheet of the central bank described in the "Methodic of monetary and financial statistics", Bank of Albania, July 2003. The data are presented in million Lek.The data of Dec 2002 - Apr 2014 reflect a reclassification of monetary gold.The data of December 2015-April 2016 reflect a reclassification of non-monetary gold.

Sectoral Balance Sheet of the Central Bank [Bank of Albania]
Central Bank Survey is compiled using the accounting reports of Bank of Albania. The data are presented according to the framework of the central banks survey described in the "Methodic of monetary and financial statistics", Bank of Albania, July 2003. The data are presented in million Lek. The data of December 2002 - April 2014 reflect a reclassification of monetary gold. The data of December 2015-April 2016 reflect a reclassification of non-monetary gold.

Central Bank Survey [Bank of Albania]
(CPI) measure the change of the prices of a fixed basket of goods and services from base period to the current period. (December 2015=100). From January 2016 the CPI calculation is based on the new basket of items, whose weights are based on the Households Budget Survey. The index is based on the structure of (ECOICOP) with 12 main groups of expenditures, totally compatible with the classification of expenditures used by EUROSTAT. The data are updated according to the source institution.

Bank of Albania compiles aggregated data on Financial soundness Indicators - FSI for banks in the Albanian banking sector. The methodology used for FSI compilation is the IMF Compilation Guide of Financial Soundness Indicatiors, 2006 edition.

Monthly average foreign currencies exchange rates to Albanian Lek show the simple average of daily official exchange rates between foreign currencies and the Albanian Lek, during a month.The calculation of official exchange rates are based on regulation No.66, date 30.08.2006 ”On the calculation of official exchange rates between foreign currencies and Albanian Lek, in Bank of Albania”. The exchange rate of CNY and CNH to Albanian Lek has started to publish from October 2016.

End of month foreign currencies exchange rates to Albanian Lek show the official exchange rates between foreign currencies and Albanian Lek in the last day of month. The calculation of official exchange rates are based on regulation No.66, date 30.08.2006 ”On the calculation of official exchange rates between foreign currencies and Albanian Lek, in Bank of Albania”, approved by Supervisory Council. The exchange rate of CNY and CNH to Albanian Lek has started to publish from October 2016.
