Governor Gent Sejko Meets with the Director of the Center of Excellence in Finance, Ms Jana Repanšek

On 9 June 2026, the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr Gent Sejko, met with the Director of the Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF), based in Ljubljana, Slovenia, Ms Jana Repanšek, accompanied by Ms Robertina Gjoka Vasilieva, Country Manager for Albania.

During the meeting, the interlocutors commended the successful cooperation between the Bank of Albania and the Center of Excellence in Finance (CEF), particularly in the areas of professional capacity development and knowledge sharing.
Ms Repanšek acknowledged the Bank of Albania’s continued commitment in CEF activities, while noting that, over the past two years, experts and staff of the Bank of Albania have recorded more than 55 participations across CEF’s flagship programmes, contributing both as subject-matter experts and as participants. According to Ms Repanšek, this engagement reflects the Bank of Albania’s strong commitment to the continuous development of institutional capacities and exchange of know-how across the region.

The parties also discussed opportunities to further strengthen their cooperation, particularly in the field of banking supervision. In this context, the Bank of Albania was recognised for its valuable contribution to the exchange of professional expertise. The parties also explored opportunities to organise future training activities and experience-sharing initiatives among regional counterpart institutions.
The meeting also served to coordinate views ahead of the Annual Meeting of the CEF Governing Board, which will be held on 22 June 2026 in Skopje. Discussions focused on the strategic priorities of the CEF, the financing of its activities, and the role of member countries in supporting the institution’s continued work.

The Governor reaffirmed the Bank of Albania’s support for the CEF’s mission of strengthening institutional capacities and fostering regional cooperation. Mr Sejko underscored the CEF’s valuable contribution to supporting reform efforts, enhancing professional capacities, and promoting the exchange of best practices among public institutions in the region.
