Governor Sejko meetings during the EBRD 2016 Annual Meeting in London

On 11 - 12 May 2016, Gent Sejko, the Governor of the Bank of Albania, attended the EBRD 2016 Annual Meeting in London. This year's theme was on ' Influencing change - the next 25 years".

During the days of the Meetings, Governor Sejko held a series of important meetings with renowned personalities in international finance. Among others, he met with Mr Philip Bennett, EBRD First Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Mr Henry Russell, EBRD Director in the Financial Institutions Group for the Western Balkans, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine, Mr Christoph Denk, Head of EBRD Albania Office, and other senior EBRD representatives.

Governor Sejko informed the interlocutors in these meetings about the latest developments in the Albanian economy, focusing on the outlook of economic growth, and developments in the Albanian banking sector. Governor Sejko thanked the EBRD representatives for the valuable contribution and concrete support through financial investments in key areas for the economy of Albania, and invited them to continue considering the potential that Albania has to offer.

Valuing the role and contribution of the Bank of Albania in maintaining macroeconomic stability in Albania, the EBRD representatives thanked Governor Sejko for the existing institutional cooperation and discussed about future projects regarding the financial system and beyond. Mr Philip Bennett, EBRD First Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, valued the potentials of Albania and affirmed the commitment for enhanced cooperation in areas of particular interest to Albania, such as energy and agro-industry.

In addition, Governor Sejko attended the proceedings of the roundtable of Finance Ministers of Western Balkans countries on " Western Balkans as an investment destination - A regional perspective". In this roundtable, Albania was represented by Erjon Luçi, Deputy Minister of Finance.
