Supervisory Council’s decisions made at the meeting of 3 June 2015

In its meeting of 3 June 2015, the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania reviewed and decided to:

  • Approve the Supervision Annual Report 2014

The Supervision Annual Report analyses the banking system and its particular indicators, the quantitative and qualitative developments in the banking industry at home, banking supervision functions and the most auspicious changes and developments in the legal and regulatory framework in 2014.

As part of our public communication strategy, the Report will be presented to journalists and subsequently published on the Bank of Albania's website.

  • Approve the Auditing Policy of the Bank of Albania

This policy aims to set forth the position of internal audit activity within the organisational structure of the Bank. The Audit Policy lays down the principles and core values, as well as the mandate, tasks and responsibilities for the development and realisation of internal audit functioning at the Bank of Albania. In more details, this document deals with issues as: the mission, the field of activity, purpose, functional independence and the establishment of the reporting lines of the internal audit activity, the right to access/use the information, the assessment of risks and adequacy of internal audit systems as well as the assessment of internal audit quality.

This document is compiled based on: the model of Internal Audit Policy proposed by the Institute of Internal Auditors; the International Standards of Internal Audit; and some similar experiences of other central banks.

  • Approve the regulatory acts: On the functioning of the Bank of Albania's Museum" 

The Museum of the Bank of Albania is located at the central building of the Bank of Albania. It is projected to be a non-profit and interdisciplinary museum, with integrated numismatic, historical and educative functions. As an important part of public communication and education, the Museum of the Bank of Albania will be open to visitors, where the numismatic collection of the Bank of Albania will be exhibited. The Museum will provide didactic activities dedicated to pupils and students, in the framework of educating and establishing a general financial literacy to these target groups.
