100 Lekë “550 year In memoriam Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu, 1468-2018”, year 2018, without legal tender

Obverse: Memorial of Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg in Lezha and above, the nominal value “100 LEKË”. On an arch, “550 VJET IN MEMORIAM GJERGJ KASTRIOTI SKËNDERBEU” is inscribed. On the background, the image of the Castle of Lezha; battlements are presented on a mat surface, with finely carved lines, which evidence the castle in high relief. The incorporated hexagonal shape is presented in symmetry and harmony with the whole set of the design elements. Years “1468 – 2018” are written below the image of Skanderbeg’s memorial.

Reverse: The profile of Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg facing right, according to a painting by Gentile Bellini, displayed in the “Le gallerie degli Uffizi” Florence, Italy; one wing of the eagle of the emblem of the Kastrioti family; below the profile, at lower part of the coin, the year “2018” is written. On the left side, an olive branch with leaves. All elements are depicted on the same surface and in harmony with the main design, in mat and fine carved lines, where the Castle of Lezha stands out in high relief. Above the portrait, the inscription “SHQIPËRI – ALBANIA” is clearly noted. The incorporated hexagonal shape is presented in symmetry and harmony with other design elements and the design of the obverse of the coin.
