Bank of Albania takes mobile expo to regional districts as the country commemorates this year the 100th anniversary of the declaration of independence

In this jubilee anniversary, as a member of the ad hoc inter-institutional committee for the 100th anniversary of independence, the Bank of Albania has launched a mobile exhibition on 100 years of independence! Albania's history commemorated in the national banknotes and coins.

The exhibition was first hosted at the premises of the Bank of Albania Centre in Berat on 19 July 2012. It was then staged at the Bank of Albania's Branch in Gjirokastra and will be open for the public as of 26 July 2012. The local residents may go to visit the exhibition and see firsthand a variety of coins and banknotes issued in Albania throughout this centennial.

The exhibition will be mounted in other districts during the upcoming months.

The exhibition illustrates the history of the national coins and banknotes and the development of the central bank of Albania, from the first efforts for its establishment to its present day status. Through this exhibition, the Bank of Albania aims to display the numismatic, historic and cultural values of the Albanian coins and banknotes produced over the years.

In addition to coins and banknotes, visitors will be made available educational publications by the Bank of Albania, such as brochures and leaflets.
