On 23 May 2014, Mr. Ardian Fullani, Governor of the Bank of Albania participated in the High-level Stakeholder's Meeting on: A chance for change: Child and youth finance and the post 2015 agenda. The meeting was co-hosted by Child & Youth Finance International (CYFI) and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), at the UN Headquarters in New York.

The high-level meeting was also attended by senior representatives from central banks, ministries of finance, youth and education, NGOs working on children rights, and financial institutions from about 90 countries. Participants discussed on the importance of youth financial education, and concrete steps to be taken in the years ahead. The main purpose of the meeting was to ensure that youth financial and social inclusion becomes a topic within the development agenda and to ensure that every young person has a dignified livelihood either through employment or entrepreneurship. Youth representatives presented their ideas on the post 2015 agenda for financial education.

Invited by the hosts of the event, Governor Fullani addressed the meeting underlining that youth financial education is a highly valuable process for the economy of a country. In this regard, he said: 'In fact, I would even dare put financial on the same level with the free market economy and the quality of institutions, as one of the key ingredients of long-term economic growth and shared prosperity'.

During his address, Governor Fullani emphasised the initiatives and efforts of the Bank of Albania with regard to financial education, such as the introduction of the elective subject 'Personal finance in your hands' in the high school curricula in 2011, and the introduction of '1, 2, 3... Çufo is learning to save', a textbook for primary (9-year) school pupils, in 2013.
