Governor Fullani takes part in the regular meeting organized by the Spanish Presidency of the European Union

The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Ardian Fullani, took part in the regular meeting organized on 17 March 2010 by the Spanish Embassy in Albania. Spain currently holds the Presidency of the European Union for this six-month period.

This is a regular meeting that the embassies of countries holding the EU Presidency hold with Albania, as a potential candidate country for EU accession, in order to view the progress of Albania in terms of the economic criteria for EU accession.

Participants in this meeting were Mr. Juan Merino, Deputy Head of Mission of the Spanish Embassy, Mr. Pedro de Torres, Economic Attaché to the Spanish Embassy, and other economic attachés of EU Member States.

In his speech, Mr. Fullani provided a brief overview of the latest macroeconomic developments in Albania and the Bank of Albania policies. Governor Fullani pointed out that the Bank of Albania has pursued a prudent monetary policy during this period. Moreover, the Bank of Albania has increased the monetary stimulus in economy without prejudice to the objective of price stability.
