Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Ardian Fullani, attends 18th Central and Eastern European Forum

On 15-16 January  2013, Euromoney hosted in Vienna, Austria, the 18th Central and Eastern European Forum. This annual forum brings together the region's leading personalities in the area of politics, economy and finance.  

The forum was organized in the form of panels with the speakers addressing the current economic and financial topics. The CEE Governors' panel attracted vast attention. Bank of Albania's Governor, Mr. Ardian Fullani, discussed the Eurozone crisis effects on Southeastern Europe, the measures taken by the relevant institutions to mitigate them and future challenges.

Governor Fullani presented an overview of the recent economic and financial developments in Albania, highlighting that the crisis effects are present in the economy. The Governor described the measures taken by the Bank of Albania in this regard and its role in safeguarding Albania's financial stability as highly important. At the end of panel proceedings, the Governor underlined that increasing the level of lending remains the major challenge for monetary policy and the economy.
