Meeting of the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania

The Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania, in its meeting dated March 9th, 2005, with the proposal of the Issuing Department of the Bank of Albania, decided to approve:

"Configurations of the designs of commemorative coins to be minted for numismatic purposes in 2005", as follows:

1. 10 Lekë denomination coins with the subject: "Tirana - 85 years as a capital city, 1920 - 2005", without legal tender. The design will have the following description:

a) The obverse of the 10 Lekë coin will have the face value "10 Lekë" above a pigeon, the inscription "Tirana, 85 - vjet kryeqytet" (meaning "Tirana - 85 years as a capital city") around the upper part of the rim and the years "1920 - 2005" around the lower part of the rim.

b) The reverse of the 10 Lekë coin will have the inscription "SHQIPËRI - ALBANIA" around the upper part of the rim, the year "2005" around the lower part of the rim, and the object "Monumental grave of Tirana city" in the middle of the coin.

2. 10 Lekë denomination coins with the subject "Objects of cultural inheritance (popular costumes in Albania)", without legal tender. The design will have the following description:

a) The obverse of the 10 Lekë coin will have the face value "10 Lekë" and the inscription "Objects of cultural inheritance" around the upper part of the rim.

b) The reverse of the 10 Lekë coin will have the inscription "SHQIPËRI - ALBANIA", around the upper part of the rim and the year "2005" around the lower part of the rim, and a popular costume in the middle of the coin.

In this meeting, the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania approved the actual budget for 2004 and adopted some other decisions on the Bank of Albania's activity.
