Memorandum of Understanding between the Bank of Albania and the Federal Deposits Insurance Corporation

On 22 April 2013, in Washington, USA, the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr.  Ardian Fullani, and the Head of the Federal Deposits Insurance Corporation, Mr. Martin J. Gruenberg, signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

Through this Memorandum, both institutions aim at strengthening the cooperation in the field of economy and finances. The bilateral commitments under the memorandum include the share of the information required for the banking services, deposits insurance and the steps to ensure financial stability.

In the ceremony, Governor Fullani informed Mr. Gruenberg on the recent economic developments in Albania, and highlighted the important role that Bank of Albania has in maintaining the financial stability.

The Federal Deposits Insurance Corporation (FDIC) is an independent agency created by the U.S. Congress, to maintain stability and public confidence in the nation's financial system by guaranteeing, among other, the public deposits.
