Message of condolences to the Governor of the National Bank of Belgium, Mr Jan Smets, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Albania (non-resident), H.E. Ms Anick Van Calster

We were shocked and deeply saddened by the news of the terrorist attacks in Belgium, which claimed several lives and left many injured. Brussels, the heart of Europe, was attacked for its very democratic and European values.

On behalf of the Bank of Albania and of myself, I would like to extend to You and the families of the victims our most sincere and heartfelt condolences for the lost lives in this tragedy.

I am confident that this tragedy will not weaken the trust of the Belgian people in the values of freedom and democracy.

I wish you strength and peace in the days to come!
