The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Ardian Fullani, attends the celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Central Bank of Russia

At the invitation of the President of the Central Bank of Russia, Mr. Sergej Ignatev, the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Ardian Fullani, participated in the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Central Bank of Russia.

The supreme authorities of Russia attended the activity organised in the framework of this anniversary, as well as executive mangers from important international financial institutions, including Mr. Jean-Claude Trichet, President of European Central Bank and Mr. Mervyn King, Governor of the Bank of England.

The common cooperation between the Bank of Albania and the Bank of Russia is assessed at satisfactory levels and mainly consists of meetings between the governors during the holding of international activities (amongst which the meetings held in the frame of Central Bank Governors' Club of the Central Asia, Black Sea and Balkan countries share an important place).

The foundation of the Central Bank of Russia dates back in 1860, time when it was called after the State Bank of the Russian Empire. Since its foundation the Central Bank of Russia has changed some times its name, depending on the political situations Russia has gone through. The Central Bank of Russian Federation, (Bank of Russia) received the current name on 13 July 1990.
