The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Ardian Fullani, held a lecture at the South East European University in Tetovo

On February 25, 2010 the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Ardian Fullani, with invitation from the South East European University - Tetovo, held a lecture at the premises of this University, with the topic: "Albania in the face of the challenges of the time and the European perspective", Tetovo, Macedonia.

The lecture was attended by the teaching staff, as well as by foreign and Albanian students of this University.
An important part of the lecture was covered by the global crisis and its effects. The Governor acquainted the participants with the measures taken by the Bank of Albania to ensure a sustainable and sound macroeconomic and financial stability, emphasizing that notwithstanding the crisis effects, the Albanian banking system remains liquid, well-capitalized and capable of accomplishing its mission.

In conclusion, the Governor Fullani answered the questions raised by teachers and students of this University.

The Governor Fullani held also a special meeting with the Rector of the University, Mr. Alajdin Abazi, and with other managers and professors of this University, discussing about the importance of education to the new generation. In this framework, the Governor acquainted the participants with the Bank of Albania's initiatives to educate the public, where students occupy an important part. The cooperation with this University was also discussed during the meeting, where the Bank of Albania was committed to provide the library of this University with its publications.

The South East European University was opened in 2001 and at present it has more than 7000 students, who are subject to an up-dated teaching program.

During his visit in Macedonia, the Governor met also the Governor of the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Petar Goshev, at the headquarters of the NBRM in Skopje. During the meeting both Governors discussed the macroeconomic situation in both countries and in the region and the mutual cooperation in areas of common interest.
