Decisions by the Supervisory Council, 4 October 2023

On 04 October 2023, in addition to the decision to keep the monetary policy rate unchanged at 3.00%, as well as the interest rates for the overnight deposit facility and the overnight lending facility at 2.00% and 4.00%, respectively, the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania reviewed and decided to:

• Approve the Regulation “On data reporting, identification and monitoring of indicators on lending and investments in real estates”

This Regulation formalise, standardise and expands the data collected from lending entities (initially commercial banks) related to the indicators on standards they employ for the exposure to real estates (residential and commercial ones). In addition, the Regulation provides for the Bank of Albania to use these indicators as instruments of macro-prudential policy, whenever needed to mitigate risks accompanying these exposures if assessed at high levels. The Regulation aligns the standard used for this purpose with that of the European Union. 

The Supervisory Council was also informed on other daily functional and operational activities of the Bank of Albania.
