On 7 June 2023, the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania reviewed the:

• Annual Supervision Report 2022

The Annual Supervision Report analyses the activity of the banking system and the supervision of the Bank of Albania. This document presents the complete framework of the supervisory regulatory amendments pursuant to with the best international standards and practices. In addition, this Report provides statistics and information on the entities licensed by the Bank of Albania, and analyses issues related to the performance of the banking system.

Inflationary pressures fuelled by international developments dictated the performance of banking activity throughout 2022. The raise in the key interest rates by central authorities, in response to the surge in prices, led to the increase in interest rates for banking and financial products. Despite the increase in the credit price, the banks’ portfolio continued to grow over the previous year by 6.55%. Meanwhile its quality has been improving throughout the year, reaching at 5% as at end of December 2022.

The Supervisory Council was also informed on other daily functional and operational activities of the Bank of Albania.
