Decisions by the Supervisory Council, 8 May 2024

On 8 May 2024, in addition to the decision to keep the policy rate unchanged at 3.25%, as well as the interest rates for the overnight deposit facility and the overnight lending facility at 2.25% and 4.25%, respectively, the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania reviewed and decided to:

• Approve amendments to the Regulation “On the comparability of fees related to payment accounts and to payment account switching”

These amendments result from the adoption of the Law 100/2023 “On payment accounts with basic features”, which stipulates the obligation of the Bank of Albania to determine, through bylaws, the comparability and transparency requirements of fees related to payment accounts with basic features and payment account with basic features switching, as well as for determining the methodology of calculating the reasonable fee on the services provided in the payment account with basic features.

The Supervisory Council was also informed on other daily functional and operational activities of the Bank of Albania.
