International Relations

Relations with the International Monetary Fund

The Republic of Albania joined the International Monetary Fund on October 15, 1991.

Following the entry into force of the 2010 Reform of the IMF Executive Board and Fourteenth General Review of Quotas, Albania's quota increased to SDR 139.3 million.  Currentlly, it has  2.847 votes (accounting for 0.06% of the total votes of all IMF members).

Albania is in the same constituency as Italy, Greece, Portugal, Malta, and San Marino.

At the IMF Executive Board Albania is represented by Mr. Carlo Cottarelli, who acts as Executive Director of the constituency. At the Board of Governors, it is represented by the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Gent Sejko.


Relations with the World Bank Group 

The Republic of Albania joined the World Bank Group in October 1991.

Albania is at the same constituency as Italy, Greece, Portugal, Malta and East Timor.

At the Board of Directors Albania is represented by Mr. Patrizio Pagano, who acts as Executive Director of the constituency while at the Board of Governors it is represented by the Minister of Finance
