Ms Suela Popa is a member of the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania since December 2018.

Ms Popa graduated for "Banking and Finance" in 2006 and she finished her postgraduate studies in "Finance" in 2008 at the Faculty of Economy, University of Tirana. During the period 2009-2012, she studied law at the Faculty of Law, University of Tirana. 

In 2012, she was certified as an "internal auditor in the public sector" by the Ministry of Finance. Since 2017, she is amongst the Senior Management Corps, at the Department of Public Administration.

Ms Popa started her banking career in 2007 at the Monetary Operations Department of the Bank of Albania. During the period 2009-2013, she served as an inspector for the banking system at the Supervision Department of the Bank of Albania. 

In the years 2013-2017, she was the Director-General for the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency. At the same time, she served as a member in several boards and projects within the framework of the development of the agricultural sector and of various financial instruments for promoting investment in the country. More specifically, she has been engaged in the National Guarantee Fund for promoting investments in the country's agriculture and rural development sector, a joint project of the Albanian Government, the EBRD and the banking system of Albania; the IPARD project co-funded by the Albanian Government and the European Union; the Environmental Services Project funded by the World Bank; projects of the Centre for International Development at Harvard University, etc. 

In the framework of professional activities, Ms Popa served as an external lecturer at the Department of Management, Faculty of Economy of the University of Tirana, during the period 2015-2016. 

During her career, she has participated in several executive training courses at the Deutsche Bundesbank, Harvard University, the Italian Development Agency, the German Development Agency, etc.

Ms Popa is fluent in English and Italian and speaks good French and Turkish.
